At the heart of this film is the music and the cost of fame. The cast is B and C list, but their performances are all A plus. Cuban rhythms aren't my favorite, however, the stirring performances of Assante and especially Banderas wrap the viewer in the period, the music and the pain of lost love. They are as different as the problems that await them. Somehow found that I had lost my copy but able to replace it with this. Assante as Cesar did an excellent job of playing the dominant older brother, the one with the dreams of fame and success.
